Movie Finder

A web-application to browse movies (posters/trailers), vote on your favorites, and find cool movies based on what similar-minded people like.

All the content can be snarfed from trailers.apple.com and imdb. All stolen content will be cached locally (except trailers) so that apple/imdb are none the wiser -- as users use the system, a large database will slowly form. This is a bonus since Apple frequently removes links to old trailers from the front page, while still keeping the trailers secretly online. This could be the way to access all that old content.

We're not going to totally shaft apple, however. All the links to trailers will point to the wrapper-page for the trailer, so the banner ads and links to apple's site are still there.

Maybe eventually add theatre listings and movie reviews.
