Music Management Application
A next-generation music management program, for savvy people.
Features:
- Pretty and easy-to-read presentation of the playlist/database...
- intelligently groups music by artist, album, or directory (let user specify which -- select group of files and "group by tags" or "group by dir", or even "group manually")
- hierarchical view instead of listview:
Artist - Album Title ===================================== 01 - I like fun things 02 - Gimme money 03 - Lalala Another Artist - Another Album ===================================== 01 - Funky Monkey 02 - Chocolate is for Lovin' 03 - Lumber is for Loggin' 04 - Slumber is for Huggin' - ..or even:
Artist ======================================================= *--------------* | Album Cover | Album 1 | | -------------------------------- | | 01 - I like fun things | | 02 - Gimme money | | 03 - Lalala *--------------* etc.. - .. basically, make the view change given context
- links to content that's playing (i.e. when it shows artist/album/track, clicking artist/album shows all by artist, or all in album, and track seeks to the current track in the playlist)
- separate browsing the music collection from anything involving the playlist -- the playlist should be like a small palette while browsing
- managing a database of all your stuff, while at the same time being able to have a filesystem
- dragging a directory from a folder and dropping it on the music database automatically moves the directory for you, and indexes the mp3's
- dragging it out of the database and dropping it in a folder moves it back to that folder
- dragging it to the trash moves it there
- features to allow you to sort through prodigious amounts of music
- marking as favorites
- interface to streamline nuking crappy songs
